2026 Akamai API Security Impact Study: APAC Edition

We surveyed 640 cybersecurity leaders across China, India, Japan, and Singapore to map the evolving landscape of API risk in the age of AI. We learned that as LLM adoption scales, so does the complexity of the attack surface, making AI-related API incidents the most prevalent threat in the APAC region. This year’s study also reveals a lack of security focused testing in development, resulting in API vulnerabilities that attackers can easily exploit.
