AWS Economic Impact Study - AWS Investment in the UAE

Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched a new AWS Region in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2022, along with a plan to expand related infrastructure and operations through 2036.

The new AWS Middle East (UAE) Region consists of three Availability Zones (AZs) and is the second AWS Region in the Middle East, following the existing AWS Region in Bahrain, giving customers more choice and flexibility to use advanced technologies from the world’s leading cloud.

With the launch of our AWS Region in the UAE, we estimate that the new Region will support an average of nearly 6,000 full-time jobs annually with an estimated $5.4 billion (AED 20.1 billion) investment in the local economy through 2036.
