Tackling multi-channel travel management
Today’s travel landscape doesn’t look anything like it used to. Content distribution includes familiar travel management companies (TMCs) and online booking tools (OBTs) – but they now exist alongside other channels, including API direct connections, nontraditional online travel agencies (OTAs), and supplier-direct booking sites and apps. All of which provide your employees with a plethora of travel booking options to choose from.
And then there’s NDC… suppliers, especially airlines, have been and will continue to use these new distribution channels to distinguish content in those channels – with a focus on improving traveller experience and promoting ancillary services that boost their revenue. This is nothing new. For decades, suppliers have made it valuable for travellers to book directly with them. But the rapid expansion of new channels has made building direct relationships with business travellers even easier and more profitable for suppliers.
